Sometimes in the world of drama, new reboots can suddenly spring out of nowhere. Death Note is no exception, and will be airing on Japanese television this July. None of the original cast from the films will be included in this new drama, and it has been confirmed that the retelling of Death Note will be an original story and will include N.</div>

Far more! The big old International fandom - as gigantic as it is, often misses out a big proportion of the media, and music from S.Korea, mainly because these bands tend not to have idolising-intentions, nor stem from the big major companies.<br />
<br />
And hands up guys, are we really that keen on <a href="http://angrykpopfan.tumblr.com/post/4057622792/the-ugly-reality-of-kpop-idol-auditions">these</a> <a href="http://www.allkpop.com/2010/04/park-jin-hees-suicide-thesis-paper-generates-interest">big</a> <a href="http://www.allkpop.com/2011/10/han-chae-wons-suicide-discovered-two-months-later">corporations</a> <a href="http://unitedkpop.com/2012/03/29/the-dark-side-of-k-pop/">in</a> <a href="http://asia-gazette.com/news/south-korea/146">music?</a><br />

<h3 style="text-align: center;">
Korean Music you should check out!</h3>
<div>
<br />
In this post, I shall briefly mention some fantastic K-indie and Kpop bands that might have alluded your eye, while are still enriched in talent. They might sound a bit different, but don't forget, this is large part of Korean music too. Big pat on the back if you recognise any.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Quick Note: I've noticed the music I have posted below seems to go from quite elaborate funk to soft, mellow music, but hey, it shows variety I guess!<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Glen Check</span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/V1XOBNwAHcw?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
Whoa. There really isn't anything else to mention. They are<b> seriously </b>good.<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Frenzy<span style="font-size: x-small;"> (프렌지)
</span></span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/YrGctyBAfDA?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
Frenzy is Korean shoegaze indie band that seriously needs more love.<br />
I wrote about them <a href="http://tulinmusic.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/frenzy.html">here.</a><br />
There is no singer, but they are masters of sound.<br />
<br />
<br />
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Mongoose</span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/Kw2KR1lpuHg?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
The singer's voice will be higher than you expect, but it's easy to go along with. This is a synth-y, pretty funky band. The bassist has some groovy rhythms.<br />
<br />
<br />
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Standing Egg</span></h4>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/hkMnn2wDKFY?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
A pretty chilled band. Got to say, I particularly like their music video for 'lalala', as featured above. Standing Egg is great to listen when you're feeling down, or just need some background music for work - they're very uplifting and easy listening.<br />
<br />
<br />
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Adulthood <span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;"> </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">(어른아이)</span></span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/JLrVeMAxgck?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Adulthood is mellow and beautiful. The lyrics are often minimal, but sang in different ways when the singer repeats them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<h4>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Vodka Rain </span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/-Uinyv8m7Os?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
I really like this band. I don't know if it's partly because of their name, but it's defiantly because they are so cheerful and easy to love, really quirky, and just a delight to listen to.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Other mentionable bands:<br />

Misty Blue<br />
Thornapple<br />

(If you have £30)Woops, it's been a while since I've posted - but stumbled upon some news that might excite a few readers.<br />
<br />
Music from Final Fantasy VI, VII, and X will be played at the 'Final Symphony' in London, May 2013, by the London Symphony Orchestra. It is hoped they will follow the same success as the award winning Symphonic Fantasies events last year and in 2009, covering various Square Enix titles such as Kingdom of Hearts, Chrono Tiger, and Secret of Mana. Benyamin Nuss will be returning as a soloist to the orchestra, after preforming at the previous events exceptionally.<br />
<br />
If you're not in the UK, they'll also be performing in Wuppertal, Germany. If this sounds like your kind of dream event, I would defiantly recommend doing a quick search to see if they'll be coming your way.<br />
<br />
Tickets are expensive - from £30 to £65, and are already selling well particularly in Germany. This is an event only for the core fans of Final Fantasy, who are keen on the sound of a well organised orchestra.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.ffsymphony.com/">http://www.ffsymphony.com/</a><br />
<a href="http://www.barbican.org.uk/music/event-detail.asp?ID=14201">http://www.barbican.org.uk/music/event-detail.asp?ID=14201</a>Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-40597585453982753212012-12-01T18:29:00.000-08:002012-12-27T18:30:25.291-08:00BIGBANG heads to.. Wembley??? Five years ago it'd be completely unheard of - a major Kpop band selling out in London?! But the Hallyu wave is at it's peek, and sure enough, BIGBANG managed to sell out a concert at Wembley stadium within 10 minutes.<br />
<br />
In fact, it was so popular, there will be ANOTHER another concert at the same venue the day after! And guess what, that sold out to.<br />
<br />
And how much were these tickets?<br />
<br />
£60.<br />
<br />
Yup, fans are crazy enough to fork out for massively overpriced tickets, because the option to miss the opportunity of seeing one of the biggest Korean bands was unacceptable. Is this the start of a happy future of kpop bands visiting the UK, or is this the highest peak the Hallyu wave can ever reach?<br />
<br />
Lets consider the moment, when Korean music hit the UK media with the famous 'Gangnam Style'. Love it or loathe it - it reached number #1 in the UK charts, and has been the subject of international attention. Celebrities, politicians, and general media has been keen on associating themselves with the dance. What <strong>effect</strong> has this on the general public in regards to Kpop music? Well, there are two sides you can take for that question.<br />
<br />
The Optimistic View<br />
Because of Gangnam style, people are more likely to look at other sources of kpop.<br />
<br />
The Realist View <br />
Because of Gangnam style, people will associate ALL kpop with Gangnam style, and still won't break into the Kpop market.<br />
<br />
Will Kpop ever be taken seriously? Predictions can only be made on sketchy grounds. Here's another;<strong> Do we want Kpop to be taken seriously by the public?</strong> Think carefully on this one.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/8S5o0q5i9dU?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
Am I the only one cringing? No?<br />
It's not that I want kpop to not be enjoyed with international success.<br />
But this Hallyu wave is brewing an issue here that is quite unsettling.<br />
Greed. The craving for blood. Total insanity.<br />
<br />
Kpop fans are turning into monsters.<br />
Ooo, did I just say that?<br />
Please don't kill me yet and let me finish.<br />
<br />
Lets take Britian for example.<br />
Kpop obviously has a lot of fans for two Wembley Big Bang concerts. And that's great! The sheer mass of fangirl and fanboy brings the bands to the UK, bands I never thought I'd ever see.<br />
But a lot of these fans don't really get kpop, and treat this as normal pop.<br />
There is a reason why I don't like normal pop.<br />
Okay, several reasons.<br />
But the sheer idolism and fanbase is a massive turn off.<br />
<br />
And while Korean idolism can be crazy, British idolism can be just as insane. Screaming at their idols in public, even hugging them - which is considered completely out of order in South Korea. You do not <strong>glomp</strong> members of Exo-K, even if they're you're bias. At least ask. These girls didn't.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/anVNZ41U9j0?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
A lot of people in the western world do not understand or get the culture behind the music, and that's well... Quite embarassing. I'm not Korean, nor have I been to S.Korea. At the end of the day, I don't even know much about the culture. But something doesn't sit right when I hear people talk to kpop as if they know and understand it well.<br />
<br />
Am I just being touchy that my hidden gem has been discovered? <br />
<br />
I'll leave you with this:<br />
Do we need an understanding of culture to enjoy and appreciate music, and go to concerts? Or is it unfair to ask the public to mould themselves to the rules of other cultures, and that it is the arriving culture that must mould themselves to their audience? What do you think?Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-83592115806589651062012-11-15T05:25:00.003-08:002012-11-15T05:25:58.726-08:00An Cafe Concert - Big Success!What were YOU doing on the 7th of December? <br />
Japanese Rock Band An Cafe rocked out in London, Islington on the 7th of December under the happy Oshare-Kei title "NYAPPY GO AROUND THE WORLD Ⅲ ~TADAIMA o(≧∀≦)o OKAERI o(≧∀≦)o~"<br />
<br />
This was an absolute brilliant concert for many reasons. Firstly, the fans themselves have a generally wonderful, carefree attitude, and that pushing and shoving you can receive from other concerts just didn't happen, while at the same time fans weren't afraid to cheer, jump and dance along with the band members. I noted that fans were from a spectrum of backgrounds while the age ranged seemed to broaden from 14 to late 30s, and the dress code varied from casual to the familiar Visual Kei hue, and one very brave girl wearing a rabbit onesie.<br />
<br />
The band members themselves were energetic, lively, and put so much effort into their music, it gave the atmosphere a fantastic dose of life and excitement. Their broken English was adorable - and the quality of sound was simply fantastic. Lead singer Miku responded generously to the crowd making the experience incredibly 3D. Each time someone shouted something in Japanese, he'd respond back - and, ah, when a male in the audience cried "I love you!" it was pure gold watching Miku's delighted face follow a response of "I wuv you too!"<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
One of the best things about the concert was that it was fairly small, so it was much easier to see the band members, and much more cosy and comfortable.<br />
<br />
An Cafe will defiantly be coming back next year, but dates have not been announced.<br />

The big boys of Super Junior has been a fantastic band, but many of their songs are filmed in very similiar conditions, and their producers seem very careful to prevent them from doing anything new. This is the same case for many other well established boy bands, and a lot of girl bands like Girls Generation. Actually, this might be more of an issue with girl bands - how many songs have you come across that are the usual boy meets girl, for some reason they cannot be together, *insert heart felt dramaticness here*. Alright girls and boys, you've done this storyline very well now, lets have a bit of something new, yeah?<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
And then suddenly, my hopes and dreams were answered.</div>
<br />
This has been a fantastic year for kpop male debuts, (last year the spotlight was on some fantastic female kpop groups!) and they have reached beyond my expectations. The bands that where the most successful where the ones that weren't afraid to be different and avoid the overcooked trends. Music companies in South Korea - please let this be a lesson to you and please give our older bands some love and attention too. <em>(While you're at it, perhaps you could cut the whole slave contract thing and pay your performers a bit more too?) </em>I am going to focus on my two most favourite debuts, B.A.P and Exo.<br />
<br />
<div align="center">
B.A.P</div>
<div align="center">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div align="center">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE GAME? IT'S B.A.P!</div>
<div align="left">
<br />
Ahoy, you've arrived to the land of blond boy band B.A.P, with their fantastic debut single, Warrior.</div>
<div align="left">
I love this song.</div>
<div align="left">
It's wonderfully manly, it has a different storyline, it has a strange looking bunny smashing up a car.... This video has everything! The song is incredibly catchy, and I love the attempt to make these boys look tough. It's quite hard for a Kpop band to look so macho these days - with all the makeup that is rubbed on their faces but B.A.P did a pretty good job of persuading me. <br />
Also, the rapping in song is brilliant. I usually cringe when kpop songs feature rapping because it usually isn't very good, but B.A.P is an exception - and they're brilliant. Fantastic debut.</div>
<div align="left">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Exo</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
This is one big debut.<br />
Whatever you may think of this, you can't dismiss that they didn't make an effort when it came to production. Exo is basically a band with two version versions, a korean version, and a chinese version. It's a little confusing, both both groups are fantastic. Exo-M is the chinese verson, and Exo-K is the korean version, and the later is the debuting band above. This band has a lot of trailers, and the company they're under made a huge fuss about them. The point is, the prologue single 'Where is the love' is a very different song compared to the 'MAMA'. </div>

<br />
MAMA has a bit of everything in it - a catchy song, chanting, crazy video effects, an interesting but a little weird storytelling (in English) at the beginning... There is a crazy, crazy storyline in this music video that I can honestly say I don't really get, but not that it matters. The power looks cool and the song is very catchy. I really like Exo's effort with this, and I'm really looking forward to see what they do next.<br />

The only negative thing about this review is that I personally disagree with the sudden 'screaming' from Kai, one of the members with his face covered in 'tattoos.' That is actually one of my favourite things about the song! Other than that, I enjoyed the review! What do you think readers?</div>Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-44909121850408673112012-04-16T03:43:00.000-07:002012-06-10T11:30:57.670-07:00An Cafe is coming back!Oshare Kei band An Cafe has stolen the hearts of many fans with their energetic music videos and funky tunes, and then shattered them when members annouced a haitus. This haitus has been rolling on for quite some time now, with leader Miku joining a more serious group called LC5, and Kanon joining a project called Kanon x Kanon.<br />

But to the happiness of a great deal of fans, they have recently confirmed that they indeed will be back! But with such a long pause, what exactly does this mean for An Cafe?<br />
<br />
Well, it means they are most likely to be changed somewhat from their earlier themes. If they follow Miku's tastes they may be floating to a slightly more darker style, perhaps more serious than before. An Cafe fans brace yourselves, but don't worry. Your trust in An Cafe should not be mislaid as they always bring out something new and some kind of interesting message. Look forward to their new single but don't expect it to be exactly the same An Cafe you know.Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-26406539921632465682012-04-04T17:19:00.001-07:002012-04-05T16:43:59.923-07:00Good music you should listen to: Part 1Being a fan of kpop and jrock for quite a long time, new band arrivals such as B.A.P, and EXO are quite exciting for me, because they're new and their music supplies the whole genre an added 'boost' of awesome, and fandom. In particular the Hallyu wave has been pumping out quite a strong year of debuts, and sometimes these can block out other, alternative genres that don't get so much a listen to. With the exception of the success of Epik High and Visual Kei, I think it can be the case in both South Korea and Japan, when equally talented artists don't get so much exposure as those who are involved in the pop or rock sphere.<br />
So here's the beginning of a series of posts to try and tempt you to listen to more alternative sound.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/IA3ixXc9wHc?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
And what better way to start of, with the sound of <a href="http://www.freetempo.net/" target="_blank">FREETEMPO</a>.<br />
It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but this music is good for generating a positive, casual mood.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/Pn3Kc1X9G2o?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <em>Even if there are some sadder sounds/themes, Takeshi Hanzawa always includes some kind of reassurance in his music that things'll be fine in the end.</em></div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"> I had never discovered FREETEMPO until I stumbled it from Youtube, but as far as I can tell most music he makes has English lyrics rather than Japanese lyrics. More information and more tracks can be found at his page on <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/FreeTEMPO?ac=Freetempo">last.fm</a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/f5zeCVkPC1Q?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Next is DJ Okawari who I've only just recently discovered. His music is deeply varied, from composing a beautiful melody on the piano, to making more technical rthymns.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/0XErK6TqT6U?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><em>DJ Okawari is a great composer for the piano.</em></div><div style="text-align: left;">I find it easy to listen to this artist because the sounds are so varied, he doesn't get boring, which I think makes him a very good, original artist.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/UVfCA0fSifw?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Another thing with DJ Okawari is that he likes to use sampling in his music, and I think he does this brilliantly. Check out his <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/DJ%2520Okawari?ac=DJ%20Okaw">last.fm page here.</a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Now for a few more alternative sounds you may have missed out on:</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/c7xq1mON-Dw?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div align="left" style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/w4bgkuUuQag?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><em>I have to especially mention Mutyumu as being particually amazing ^</em></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hope this was interesting to you.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Part 2 coming soon...</div></div><div align="left" style="text-align: left;"></div>Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-9550012843387541482012-03-23T05:07:00.001-07:002012-03-23T05:12:52.143-07:00Amazing Comics March Edition!Greetings!<br />
How have you been dear readers?<br />
<br />
Recently I have been reading less and less manga, but more and more online comics. As regulation becomes far more stricter against uploading manga, I have had a great need for a new free alternative, and it turns out more western style comics isn't something to be feared or disregarded. Infact, some can be very, very good! These 'rogue' comic artists usually have another job on the side, and are very generous when uploading their comic in very good quality. This quality beats scanlations tenfold. In regards to my personal buying habits, I like to read at least the first chapter of a manga or comic before buying it, and because of more limited access to manga - and less manga being published in my country now Tokyopops UK has died out, I feel I'm far more likely (and quite happy to) support these online comic artists and buy their unique works. Oh, it's also worth mentioning that the storylines and characters are far less generic than a lot of manga that's available to buy in Europe. So don't turn your back against comics dear manga fans! I feel that comics are also a good platform for any kind of reader - so even if manga isn't your thing, comics might just steal your heart.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Recommended online comics</span><br />
<br />
Out there in the online comic world... It can be pretty crazy! There are a LOT of comics out there with easy access, but quality and consistency can be quite hard to find amongst the piles!<br />
<br />
So I will be including my favourites that I am currently reading below. Also, if you happen to use <a href="http://deviantart.com/" target="_blank">DeviantART</a>, I find a lot of good quality artists use this website to advertise their comic, which leads nicely onto my first recommendation.<br />
<br />
1) <a href="http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&q=Knite#/d2hzam9" target="_blank">Knite</a><br />
This is an online flash comic hosted on DeviantART. It is a very beautiful series, and it's a major highlight to the week when a new chapter is uploaded. The artist, <a href="http://yuumei.deviantart.com/" target="_blank">Yuumei</a>, also makes other comics, and I defiantly recommend you check her work out.<br />
<br />
Knite is partically special because although the art is incredibly magical, the story is very touching, and quite political. It highlights the problem of pollution in China, and corrupt politicians. <br />
<br />
In short, I recommend Knite for everybody. Give this comic a try!<br />
<br />
2) <a href="http://www.spindrift-comic.com/index.php" target="_blank">Spindrift</a><br />
In the online comic world, Spindrift is quite a young project, and the story is only at chapter one right now. Yet there is already quite a lot of drama in this fantasy story, and I'm excited to see where this goes. The art is beautiful, and the characters are very interesting. It involves two races called the Alar and Iidra, and a quite a well made setting!<br />
<br />
I recommend this story for the fantasy and adventure fans out there.<br />
<br />
3) <a href="http://www.straysonline.com/" target="_blank">Strays</a><br />
This is a pretty awesome comic that started in 2007, and is still ongoing five years later! I think in this comic in particular you appreciate how much effort goes into making a brilliant comic. You can catch up to the latest page in one or two days... And that's five years of hard work! <br />
<br />
Strays is about the story of an orphaned child called Meela who is very lonely, in a world where her lupian race can be quite detrimental to her safety. She meets a character called Feral who is a <u>very unique character</u> with a major quirk/limit that I won't spoil to you, but it makes this comic a gem! <br />
<br />
I highly recommend this comic for those who like manga, those who like wolves/foxes, and just generally those who want a pretty cool story.<br />
<br />
4) <a href="http://off-white.eu/" target="_blank">Off-White</a><br />
I'll be honest, I wasn't actually expecting to like this comic. Although the storyline involves humans, all the main characters are wolves. Sometimes the story can get a little lost, but when it gets dramatic - my goodness it pulls the strings on your heart. It's quite hard to describe this story without spoiling it, but I do recommend this for those who love wolves/pack animals.<br />
<br />
5) <a href="http://krakowstudios.com/spinnerette/2010/02/09/20100209/" target="_blank">Spinnerette</a><br />
One of my favourite comics!<br />
This is the perfect comic for any comic and superhero fan! If you're into Marvel or DC, you'll absoloutely LOVE Spinerette.<br />
You see... Spinnerette is a parody of these comics, set in a world where superheroes obtain cool powers and have to wear disguises while doing their duty - that's kicking supervillian's butt. Yet... This comic isn't just a parody, it stands out with a unqiue storyline of it's own. It's characters are very likeable, there is drama, there is romance, there is an ongoing line of ACTION! <br />
<br />
The one downside to this comic is that it can get a tad pervy, particularly during the latest chapters. However the romance is sweet and I recommend this comic 100 times over.<br />
<br />
6) <a href="http://www.meekcomic.com/" target="_blank">The Meek</a><br />
This is quite an unusual comic, where the female character is naked throughout.<br />
Yes, you heard that right.<br />
But it's done in quite an artistic non-pervy way, and it's quite a good comic. It hasn't updated for a while, but I hope it will continue from haitus again soon.<br />
<br />
I would recommend it to those who appreciate art, great story telling, and don't mind nudity.<br />
<br />
7) <a href="http://www.earthsongsaga.com/index.php" target="_blank">EarthSong</a><br />
This comic has been the artists' project for quite a while now, and for this comic I'll be honest and say that the art isn't the main draw for me as a reader. It's not as complex as Spinerette, or as beautiful as Knite. But the characters have a lot of depth - and the world is so interesting! This is a world where the planets themselves are people... I recommend reading it for yourselves to find out. It's not a good comic for everyone - those who are looking for great art should go somewhere else. But it is an interesting comic nevertheless, and I recommend this for those who are interested in a very interesting 'world'.<br />
<br />
8) <a href="http://requiem.seraph-inn.com/" target="_blank">Pheonix Requiem</a><br />
And finally, my all time favourite online comic.<br />
This is a fantastic comic set in an alternative Victorian/Edwardian style era, in a small town/village. The main female character is a training doctor, and is so into her job that her friends find her hard to talk to. When a male character who happens to need medical attention comes into her life - she finds him fascinating, and begins to open up. Then come the haunting shades...<br />
<br />
This is quite a spooky yet brilliant comic! Each panel is of a high standard, and the artist limited the number of characters to the great benefit of the comic! <br />
<br />
I recommend this completely to anyone! I think those who are into manga and comics in general will like this, as well as those who are into ghost stories. It might be a little bit scary for the younger reader.Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-53163577930581126382012-02-06T04:24:00.000-08:002012-02-06T04:24:00.607-08:00So I herd u liek Miyavi?So I was lookng at common phrases people were using to get to my blog, and one of them was "A lot of miyavi". It's been a while since I've updated this blog, mainly because I've not had time to be in sync with the Kpop/Jrock community for a while. However, there's a couple of things I'd like to mention in this post:<br />
<br />
<u>Otaku House</u><br />
<br />
I'm really starting to like <a href="http://www.otakuhouse.com/">http://www.otakuhouse.com/</a>. I've never actually brought anything from their stores, but I really prefer the community much better to <a href="http://yellowkokoro.blogspot.com/2011/09/many-reasons-why-i-would-not-buy.html" target="_blank">Tokyo Toys.</a> If, and more likely when I buy something from Otaku House I'll be sure to review it - but I guess the main reason is that they are firmly against SOPA. It's quite obvious why - they'd lose a heck of a lot of business - I guess I just liked their vocal detest against it. Even if they stole someone elses' <a href="http://meme./">meme.</a> If you're fine with frequent FB posts and a heck of a lot of cosplay competitions, you might wish to check out their <a href="http://www.facebook.com/otakuhouse" target="_blank">FB Page.</a><br />
<br />
<u>Concerts and Conventions</u><br />
<br />
In London at least, there's a lot of jrock/anime action coming to town!<br />
<br />
Starting with the closer events.... Two interesting conventions will be held in London in February.<br />
<br />
With their tagline as "London's Anime and Gaming Convention" <a href="http://www.londonanimecon.com/" target="_blank">London Anime Con</a> will be taking place next weekend. With an 18+ requirement and an interesting 'clan system' does this look to be the new alternative to 'London Expo'?<br />
<br />
No.<br />
<br />
The London Anime Con is part of the AnimeLeague, which is run by the famous "Mr Towers", who is <a href="http://encyclopediadramatica.ch/FreeSaiyan" target="_blank">infamous among the anime community.</a> Their general miscommuication and drama usually seed events to fail before they bloom, so I wouldn't count on this convention to compete at all with the famous London Expo. <br />
<br />
Is it worth attending?<br />
Maybe - If you are happy to part with £10. If not, you might want to check out <a href="http://hyperjapan.co.uk/" target="_blank">Hyper Japan</a> instead.<br />
<br />
For an extra £2 on the ticket price you get professional quality and a <strong>real</strong> alternative to London Expo. If you're fed up of walking up and down the crowded Excel Centre for an empty seat that does not exist and staring at overpriced merchandise you can't afford - Hyper Japan may be able to rekindle your love for conventions. What makes its stand out is that it is a<em> Culture</em> Convention. That means delicious cuisine, traditional and modern art, films and various other aspects of Japanese culture will have their own stalls. So this time you'll be able to walk down the event looking at overpriced objects you can't afford and won't ever see again =)<br />
<br />
Hyper Japan does have a few stars visiting that some readers may find interesting, such as Natsuko Aso. I am not a fan of j-pop but I've heard she's quite popular, which might be enough to persuade you to go.<br />
<br />
But because I like Jrock so much, I can detect an awesome presence coming to the UK... Yes, I am certain that L'Arc~En~Ciel will be in London on the 11th April, £56.50 for a ticket.<br />
--What?<br />
You heard me right. According to Dada-san from Versailles, (Seriously he's awesome, go <a href="http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001109773009" target="_blank">add his FB</a> and understand what I'm referring to) Jrock isn't doing too well overseas, and to cover up the costs? Scary ticket prices. The band is amazing though, so is it worth it?<br />
<br />
Out of London, there is also <a href="http://thecamcon.com/" target="_blank">Cam Con</a> which some people are quite excited about, as it means finally a local convention in Cambridge. I'm not too sure about it, and as it's so close to London Expo - So I won't be attending, but I'll be looking forward to see how it goes. I hope it goes well, simply because Cambridge isn't too far away from me back at home - it'd be nice to meet some local anime fans.<br />
<br />
Not to mention Music Bank in Paris on Tuesday! May not be in London or the UK (well duh) but I know a lot of you UK folks are coming.<br />
<br />
Hope the snow doesn't cause any problems...~! And be safe fellow k-pop fans v_v;<br />
<br />
<u>Viewers</u><br />
<br />
One last thing to mention, how on Earth did I get so many views?? 873 hits all time is something pretty cool, even if they were google image searches for visual kei pictures.Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-65959075365148964532012-01-18T10:22:00.000-08:002012-01-18T10:22:46.530-08:00Shinichi OsawaNow for something a little different on Yellow Kokoro. Japan doesn't just have an amazing rock music scene, but also has brilliant electronic artists such as Shinichi Osawa, who has really helped create a new genre of music.<br />
<br />
If you've not heard of Shinichi Osawa, it's about time you did! Shinichi Osawa is an amazing musician from Japan that is incredibly talented at remixing songs and producing his own tracks. His genres range immensely, and after finding him via a Clazziquai remix, I'm completely addicted. Here's some of my favourite tracks of his.<br />
<br />
If you are a BoA fan, I particularly recommend Everything Needs Love - the last video on this post!<br />

DUBSTEP style!?Popular k-pop boy band U-Kiss recently performed on stage their new(ish) single, 'Neverland' with a little bit of an unexpected twist. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/rs9frwhG-oM?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div>Okay, it never actually quite hits the genre on the head, but there's certainly some kind of seasoning from Dubstep<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">land in this performance. I'm not sure if I like this or not, but before I say anything else I have to admit that I'm not actually a U-Kiss fan. But perhaps this song could change my ways.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">At the beginning it starts out as a little intro - oh, look, they're all dressing up as vampires today, la la la. I like their costumes but feel they could have been better. It was cool to see the cloaks disappear in complete sync though, and their style is fairly cool. (Little bit too much eye makeup though?) </div><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">The specific new take on the song begins at 1:55 in my opinion. That is when it starts sounding like a Clazziquai dance track. And I absoloutely<em> love</em> Clazziquai. The light 'wub' at 2:07 is quite good - I could only wish it was done a little heavier and the dancing at this specific point could have been a little more impressive. Sorry U-Kiss fans... I blame it on the fact I associate the dubstep sound with very highly skilled dance routines...;; And well... Your lovely boys are good at dancing, just not the specific style I was hoping to see.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Am I forgiven? Yes? Oh good. I'll continue then~~</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><object class="BLOGGER-youtube-video" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" data-thumbnail-src="http://3.gvt0.com/vi/aHoSd_RMnPM/0.jpg" height="266" width="320"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aHoSd_RMnPM&fs=1&source=uds" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed width="320" height="266" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aHoSd_RMnPM&fs=1&source=uds" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">The original version of the song is nice, I thought for some reason the dancing in the video was a lot better - but maybe it's because it's easier to see them? I don't know. The song itself has got me interested in what U-Kiss can do, and I will certainly be less dismissive of them in the future. I do hope that the current k-pop cliché to tell the 'DJ' to 'turn it up' will stop very soon. Honestly guys and girls of kpop land, it's really not cool.</div>Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-6411083378095626802011-12-29T10:47:00.000-08:002011-12-29T10:47:13.696-08:00TVXQ gives an outstanding performance!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/HXSq44WcOaY?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
Fans of TVXQ are currently buzzing over an exceptional performance on Maximum earlier today. The song itself isn't my favourite of the band's releases, but I absolutely love watching YunHo sing his heart out, and the dancing was amazing! Although I will always prefer the band to be with the full five members, this was pretty brilliant to watch.Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-59226567303076711012011-12-27T12:28:00.000-08:002011-12-27T13:31:28.525-08:00Music<div style="text-align: center;">"Music isn't as good as it was back in my day"</div><div style="text-align: center;">"I wish I was born in the 70s/80s"</div><div style="text-align: center;">"Music is all about auto-tuning and looks now."</div><div style="text-align: center;">"There is no real music of today"</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">These are just a few of the comments that makes me want to shout...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">HELLO!?</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Around the UK someone somewhere is complaining - (No surprise there) about the current music of today. Usually every month or so there's some celebrity or near celebrity complaining about modern music and teenagers, and it's getting to the point where it's getting a little bit silly. Every so often the <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/dec/24/2011-year-of-boring-music?fb=native&CMP=FBCNETTXT9038" target="_blank">tabloid dribbles it's own thesis,</a> and even some of my dear friends have fallen into the trap of believing that music really is getting worse. Even I joined in believing the statement so blindly that is, until I went to university and listened to different kinds of music I had never heard before. And so, to make a change to the usual Yellow Kokoro standard, I'm going to challenge both statements.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><strong>"Music is getting worse"</strong></div><br />
Firstly, technology and the Internet has made music production a whole lot easier, and there is certainly a heck of a lot more music out there to listen to. All you Gothic rockers out there who criticise that "mainstream music" is a load of poo, well it could very turn out that your precious 'alternative' rock may as well be a mainstream genre for all the contributions it receives on a day to day basis around the world. With so much choice, you're bound to find some kind of sound you like - where in the past there was a time where you'd have to stick with the Beatles or cover your ears.<br />
<br />
Because of technology new sounds can be made and thus new genres can be born - and well, if you don't like that kind of music - you can always go back to the more concrete and older genres - "older style" music is still being produced - and if you still, really, really can't stand any new bands or artists that come along in your preferred idea of your favourite genre, then you can just listen to your old music. Bob Dylan's albums and singles are still making money and the 70s and 80s have been able to secure track immortality. Since you can obtain a digital form of "older style" music, music can never essentially be "worse" for you. Instead it remains the same. <br />
<br />
<strong>"I wish I was born in the 70s"</strong><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Do you really wish to be born into a world with a worse health care, less choice of music (and much more expensive means of obtaining music), and (for the UK readers among us...) Margaret Thatcher?<br />
<br />
I didn't think so.<br />
<br />
<strong>"Music is all about auto-tuning now..."</strong><br />
<br />
A lot of music do use auto-tuning, but again, there is as much music available that doesn't. Auto-tuning is interesting stuff - and some great songs wouldn't be able to exist without it. Just because a singer in the charts uses it in his or her songs, doesn't mean you have to worry about your precious genres becoming extinct. Recently there has been a trend of 'unplugged' versions of familiar songs - especially with newer bands who want an increase in popularity and admiration. <br />
<br />
<strong>"Music is all about looks now"</strong><br />
<br />
Music has always been on par with style and image, even during the classical-music period. Lets take Adam and the Ants for example.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/4B2a6l6wM2k?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
Sure, some bands of today have a less than desirable image compared to Adam, and some female artists wear rather disapproving outfits but-- That's society for you - and as there is SO much music around, you're going to find decent females who don't look like they're from a late night club down the road. (and for the record, I'm mentioning <em>'those'</em> kind of clubs.)<br />
<br />
To be fair, I have to say that some bands are focusing a little too much on their nails and less on the sound.<br />
And I'm not talking about American or European bands here, I'm mentioning my beloved Visual Kei. Suddenly I've just woken up the jrock readers here.<br />
Recently, a lot of new bands have emerged from the Visual Kei scene with an exciting image, only for their tracks to sound the same as the previous dozen bands that debuted a month or two before them. Please freshen up Visual Kei genres... <br />
Saying that, there will always be good old Kra to turn back to, and Dada-san from Velvet Eden who is always contributing to music and usually making a post or two on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001109773009" target="_blank">facebook...</a><br />
And some good bands will eventually be born out of the dead buds...<br />
<br />
<strong>"There is no real music of today"</strong><br />
<br />
If you truly believe that - you cannot love music. There has never been a year of outstanding quality and quirkiness when it comes down to music and new sound - you've just got to find it. And next year is just going to get even better....Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-11274527012091581162011-11-24T15:46:00.000-08:002011-11-24T15:46:23.649-08:00L~Arc en Ceil set to preform in London!I am happy to announce that L~Arc en Ceil is visiting the the UK capital's O2 Arena to preform at April the 11th. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/nJeXecRXYXk?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div align="left">And about time too!<br />
Tickets cost a whopping <strong>£55</strong>, with<strong> £111</strong> being the price of 'special' tickets. We're not sure how 'special' these tickets are, but there's a rumour going around they're for a meet and greet. It'd be insanely awesome to see the band up close by my goodness it's expensive. I've not decided if I'll go yet, but... This is such a rare opportunity, I'm seriously tempted.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">Over to Kpop world,</div><div align="left"> C.N.Blue and F.T.Island have confirmed that they are also due to preform in the UK! There is no date set, but it's meant to be 'early next year'. I only hope it isn't as late notice as the SHINee concert....</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">I think it's time to start saving up your pocket money UK readers, because it looks like next year is set to be busy!</div>Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-34285958203303262702011-11-21T04:37:00.000-08:002011-11-21T04:47:08.979-08:00Korean Music - My guilty addictionsKorean music can be so brilliant and amazing. Take Tablo's new song, Airbag which is just gorgeous!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/fyqVt1GUEkk?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
And then, theres the new song with Kyuhyun and Yoon Jongshin which is so beautiful....<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/DlU3jLgYphg?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Admit it, you wanted him to take off more than just his scarf. Didn't you? Yes, you did.</span></div><br />
So now you have a taste of good, clean, excellent music, it's time to introduce three Korean pop songs which we know for some reason we really shouldn't like them, but for some reason or another, it turns out that we're actually COMPLETELY ADDICTED. Yes, I'm going on about<em> those</em> kind of songs. And what better way to start of than with SNSD's Gee.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/U7mPqycQ0tQ?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
The song is cheesy, far too cute, and <u>very</u> repetitive. Usually I'd absoloutely hate a song like this, but Girl's Generation has a specific charm that no human being can resist. Somehow, I'm pulled into this magical power, and I'm going all Gee Gee Gee Gee for S-N-S-D.<br />
<br />
<u>Random Fact:</u>This song is so loved by k-poppers it was used <a href="http://kpopconcerts.com/kpop-events/k-pop-makes-another-comeback-in-london-as-flash-mob-is-held-in-trafalgar-square/">at a flash mob in London.</a><br />
Also, aren't coloured jeans supposed to be in fashion now? Looks like this band is way ahead on trends ;)<br />

Yes, I love this song. And you will too, once you've listened it a couple of times. SHINee's Ring Ding Dong isn't my worst guilty k-pop addiction, because if you listen to it, it's actually pretty good. I'll be honest, I didn't notice this at first but after a day or two this became the song I was listening to all day ! I love their groovy dancing. <br />
<br />
<u>Random Fact: </u>SHINee recently preformed in the UK! <br />
Whoever managed to see them was very lucky =__=<br />
Next up is a song by one of the biggest Hallyu stars, he's appeared in multiple hollywood films, and have created many albums of awesomeness. And now for his most guilty pleasure song ever created...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/DF0AL3gaNLQ?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
Rainism -- song, danced, acted, entertained by the one and only Rain Bi. There really isn't much explanation needed in this one, even the lyrics are something that would cause me to stop watching this video. But.<br />
It's.<br />
Just.<br />
Far.<br />
Too.<br />
Sexy.<br />
<br />
You also have to understand that Rain Bi a king, he can get away with having a big ego, having the power to stop random people growling at him, and just having that aura of cool. <br />
<br />
Sadly, he's joined the military now, but I look forward to his come back in two years time...<br />
<br />
<u>Random Fact:</u> Did you know that Rain Bi has had a dance of with Stephan Colbert?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/CYtIqBViFwU?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br />
It was such a funny video, but all I could find was a Korean news report about it.<br />
Still quite entertaining to watch though!<br />
<br />
<br />
And that's it for this post! Let me know your thoughts below, and stay in tuned for a part 2...!<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">(Because we all know that these kind of songs are made quite frequently...)</span><br />
<br />
Edit:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/VejIEv7qGdQ?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-16958332751589841652011-11-21T04:06:00.000-08:002011-11-21T04:06:55.463-08:00The Hallyu Wave hits the UK papersI'm never 100 % happy when my beloved fandoms enters the UK media, ever since the cosplay-expo incident. Nevertheless, the Hallyu Wave has snuck right in, landing an article in the London tabloid, 'Evening Standard'. I found out about the news <a href="http://unitedkpop.com/2011/10/03/london-is-going-k-pop-crazy-evening-standard/">here</a> which pretty much says exactly what the actually article says <a href="http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/lifestyle/article-23993804-london-is-going-k-pop-crazy.do">here.</a> In this blog however, I'm going to review the article in a slightly different way.<br />
<br />
By looking at it with a stupidly bias method to provoke absoloute insanity amongst readers.<br />
^ That wasn't the original sentence I was going for. I actually wanted to add a really good emoticon, didn't find any on google images but did found this on page 8 while searching the key phrase "suspicious face".<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Kim JaeJoong comes up on 'Suspicious Face'?</td></tr>
</tbody></table>I should warn you know this blog entry will probably remain quite crazily stupid. <br />
So anyway, I start reading the article, and with my suspicious face on I saw this. Already my bias grows tenfold.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><strong>" Every few minutes, a video camera zooms in on the action."</strong></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Damn you journalist, you're just referring to this awful camera work from the new Super Junior single... Which was also quite a disappointment as it sounded pretty much the same as their other songs....</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">Okay, the journalist probably has no clue about this, but I'm very pleased about my excuse to put this video in my blog. </div><div style="text-align: left;">To be honest I see no fault here, it's pretty much true.</div><div style="text-align: left;">Fanboys, screaming girls, tiny venues... That's just how it is. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Haven't updated in a while, but that's because I've just started university, and it's taken a while to get the Internet up and running. But no worries, as it's given me quite a long time to think about new and exciting future posts, yay!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I won't spam too much about my personal life here, but things are going very well, and I'm really happy right now. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">One more thing I would like to mention... how the heck did my views suddenly go up?? Popular band "JYJ" has recently released new single "Get Out" which got me completely hooked! Their sound, dancing and overall performance has dramatically decreased from their debut -- come now, enough of that hate. You really can't deny the increase of quality with new songs such as "Get Out" and "In Heaven" compared to "Ayy Girl". <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/tkOlW4OVn7c?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: center;">Really?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">(Watch at your own risk.) </span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">The one negative point I would like to point about is that "Get Out" has a storyline that has been overused in the kpop generation, and personally, I think Taegoon's "Call Me" uses the whole "Two/Three timing girlfriend who actually isn't a nice girl and the guys call her and ask her what's going on" thing better. I'm sorry JYJ, but innocent Taegoon actually gets shot because of the evil girlfriend. By JaeJoong, one of the members in JYJ coincidentally enough!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/uEdoz8PRXsU?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Actually, if I think about it, when TVXQ were together, didn't they have a song...</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/XoSHdkUDPUM?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">And so does SHINee!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/roughtzsCDI?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Okay, it's official. South Korea loves phones. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Attempting to move slightly back on topic, JYJ is certainly becoming a professional band of their own, with their own style, and their own talent. I think the history between TVXQ and JYJ will be for another blog, but I can't help but miss the harmony when the five boys were together. If you hear a great song from TVXQ, or a great song from JYJ, just imagine how MORE GREAT that sound could have been if they were together...</div>Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-57916846461118703652011-09-19T18:25:00.000-07:002011-09-19T18:25:19.147-07:00The many reasons why I would not buy directly from Tokyo Toys.If you're from the UK and you're wanting to cosplay, you have three choices available to you. Choice One, the Internet. Bid on ebay for goodness knows what kind of quality you'll end up getting, or buying from some unheard of shop that may take your money and leg it. Choice Two, you can buy all the materials yourself and make something. But you know what'll happen, yes, you do. You'll buy the materials and they'll still be sitting there when London Expo comes and you'll run out of time to make whatever that cosplay you had in mind that you once believed would be 'easy'. (Oh yes, that's a common practice for cosplayers, I should know.) And then... There's the Choice Three.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: red; text-align: center;"><a href="http://tokyotoys.com/"><span style="font-size: large;"><i>Tokyo Toys.</i></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://tokyotoys.com/images/Conventions/2008/YAYA-2_L.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="229" src="http://tokyotoys.com/images/Conventions/2008/YAYA-2_L.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
And by goodness, you really, really don't want to shop there.<br />
<br />
Now, credit where credit is due, they <b>do</b> have a lot of items on sale and it is nice to see so much anime and manga items on sale in the UK! And yes, they<b> do</b> have quite a considerable of range of merchandise as well, from cosplays to soft toys to manga, and yes, the shop location<b> is</b> inside <b>Trocodero</b>, one of the coolest places for an anime fan to be in London minus ChinaTown and the Excel Centre during Expo. But really guys, just look around and leave your wallets at home. And if you're a female, <u>for your dignity I'd recommend going round the back and avoiding the man at the desk</u>. He's freaking<i> creepy</i>. And yes, he will talk to you. It was probably his decision to add the girl in the photo too. You have been officially warned.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Very expensive pricing </span><br />
<br />
You have to remember, Tokyo Toys recieves no competition with their overinflated prices on any other days other than on the Expo Days, where they run a stall with heavily discounted goods. (That's when you grab the bargains and RUN!) Tokyo Toys can over charge what they like for pocky, and for cosplay merchandise especially and you have to be very weary at that. Also, if you're paying £1.50 or more for a box of plain old pocky you're being ripped off. ChinaTown stalls and shops sell them at quite a cheap price, and if you're going to Expo, you have no excuse for not going to ChinaTown aswell.<br />
<br />
Bad service<br />
<br />
I would also like to warn you about the service the shop actually provides online. <a href="http://tokyotoys.com/index.php?main_page=product_reviews_info&products_id=3311&reviews_id=1803">And I quote,...</a><br />

<br />
Overall review:<br />
In conclusion, I really don't recommend Tokyo Toys for the serious cosplayer, or for the serious fan. Unless you really, really need your daily dose in a hurry, Tokyo Toys is a big thumbs down. That is... Until Expo anyway, then my friends I give you amazing discounts that are very, very tempting.Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-12588054571219074192011-09-18T13:39:00.000-07:002011-09-18T13:39:50.497-07:00GLEE COVERS KPOP BAND SUPER JUNIOR.<div style="text-align: left;">It's been confirmed!</div><div style="text-align: left;">The Hallyu Wave has crashed into popular series<b> Glee</b>, and will be preformed by<a href="http://glee.wikia.com/wiki/Harry_Shum_Jr."> Harry Shum Jr</a> who plays "<a href="http://glee.wikia.com/wiki/Mike_Chang">Mike Chang</a>" , funnily enough described by my friend as an Asian guy who once held the title of "can't sing". </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/r6TwzSGYycM?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div>That's right, of all songs to represent Super Junior they choose <a href="http://glee.wikia.com/wiki/Mr.Simple">Mr Simple</a>. Ouch. Will this be a good moment for the Hallyu Wave to spread its wings over the world, or will it be a moment where kpop fans lower their heads in shame? I fear the worst.Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-16412058813215782112011-09-14T18:04:00.000-07:002011-09-14T18:07:19.040-07:00V-Rock DisneyWhen Disney and Jrockers collide, you get...<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-size: large;">V-Rock Disney!</span></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I'm so excited about this album, someone very amazing has already began uploading the videos and I'll be posting them on this blog. Amazing well known Jrockers have covered exactly eleven well known and loved songs from the classic Disney era, including 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' from Lion King, preformed by Aoi which I am completely elastic about! I'm so happy to see NIGHTMARE (Twice!!!!), and Sadie, and Plastic Tree and THE KIDDIE on the list and I am so cheered up by listening to the songs that my worries about uni has faded away! I'll probably edit this post to make more sense in the morning.With thanks to <a href="http://www.jpopasia.com/news/more-info-on-v-rock-disney-revealed::8295.html">Jpop Asia</a> I bring you the song list of the V-Rock Disney album.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

Now after all that excitement... I should get some sleep. I'll update this blog again tomorrow.... Good night! </div>Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5511834834044363.post-41086260862646763112011-09-04T07:28:00.000-07:002011-09-05T09:11:06.052-07:00Yellow Kokoro, part 3I'm very happy to annouce that Yellow Kokoro has achieved over one hundred views! The most popular topics seem to be Visual Kei, so I hope that my jewellery post below will be of some interest to the readers =) <br />
<br />
In my life things have also been well. I've finally got accommodation sorted which means I have somewhere to live when I go to uni ;-) Always a handy thing! Also, I've started a new project, <a href="http://rainbowkokoro.blogspot.com/">Rainbow Kokoro</a>, which I've been meaning to start for some time, and have some exciting plans for Yellow Kokoro too. Expect more Doctor Who posts and a big Torchwood mention, and possibly a new and much more yellow layout. Well, it's not called yellow for no reason. That said, should I then make Rainbow Kokoro rainbow coloured? Hmm. Anyway, I'd like to give a big heads up to a new friend of mine, <a href="http://everyauthorwhoeverlived.weebly.com/blog.html">Adam</a>, who mentioned my blog in his. Thank you very much Adam! His blog is quite different to Yellow Kokoro, but it's brilliantly funny and entertaining. I recommend a visit to his trusty water blog, <a href="http://everyauthorwhoeverlived.weebly.com/">http://everyauthorwhoeverlived.weebly.com/</a>. <br />
<br />
Edit:<br />
Poll results have came in!<br />
Seems like the most popular kpop bands are DBSK, MBLAQ, and SHINee according to the Kokoro poll!Tülinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16582144285906940175noreply@blogger.com1
